👠 touken ranbu

Touken Ranbu is originally a gacha game wherein players assume the role of a sword sage (saniwa) who travels into the past to defeat evil forces that are attempting to mess with history. The saniwa has the ability to summon and animate the spirits of legendary swords from history who all happen to be pretty anime guys, as one would expect. The game has spawned multiple manga omnibuses, animes, and stage plays.

👠 personality & background

personality: Generally friendly with people, has some tsundere tendencies but it's more about trying to portray himself as cute and together and finding it embarrassing/not cute to be honest sometimes than it is about being mean to people when he means to be nice. He's more responsible than he sometimes acts, and he cares about people a lot, even when those people are stupid. He's fairly vain and fashion-conscious and likes praise and approval from pretty much anyone.

background: From his pre-summoning past the main beats to be aware of are that when Kashuu was a sword was forged in the Edo period (1684 CE) by the swordsmith Kashuu Kiyomitsu, who lived in poverty on the riverbank. He was eventually owned by Souji Okita, one of the Shinsengumi, and was the blade that Souji took with him to the famous Ikedaya Incident in 1864. During the battle Kashuu's tip broke and as he was deemed unrepairable he was later abandoned. And then in the year 2205 he was summoned to the Citadel by the Saniwa to fight time-traveling historical revisionists, as you do. While he can be played from any of the multiple canon iterations with differing events and histories he is usually played from the Hanamaru anime which is two seasons long. 👠 abilities

• Like pretty much any sword you'll meet, Kashuu is skilled at combat. He uses Souji Okita's fighting style for the most part and it is geared towards Speed. His sword is "hard to handle", but Kashuu has no issues using himself in battle, thankfully.

• Kashuu isn't human and seems to be stronger/faster than the average human would be with better stamina...though plenty of the muscle-obsessed swords have him beat in terms of stamina (let him REST, he will never train with them again - ) so it's not like he's the strongest ever sword warrior. He can generally hold his own against enemies and that is what matters.

• His "true" body is technically his sword. Basically: if the sword breaks, he's dead meat, and any damage done to the blade will be reflected on his body and cannot be healed unless the sword is repaired. Unsurprisingly he's not liable to let himself out of his own line of sight in a strange new place, because Kashuu likes being alive and not broken, thank you.
